## Short answer

worthi lets a user add manually valued assets that may not appear in a bank or brokerage feed. Each record has a current value and currency, with optional acquisition cost, acquisition date, and notes. Saving a changed current value or currency creates a dated manual valuation. Active assets are converted into the selected base currency and included in consolidated net worth.

worthi does not automatically value property, cars, collections, businesses, or private investments. The user supplies and maintains the estimate.

## Supported asset categories

worthi provides seven asset categories:

- Vehicle.
- Real estate.
- Collectible.
- Crypto.
- Business asset.
- Private investment.
- Other asset.

Categories organize the record; they do not decide whether an asset belongs in a particular person's net worth.

## Current value and acquisition details

Current value is the amount used in the current net worth calculation. Acquisition cost and acquisition date are optional historical context and do not replace a current estimate. Notes can document the valuation source, condition, ownership scope, or uncertainty.

Each asset also has an active or inactive status. An inactive asset stays in the record but is excluded from current net worth.

## Dated manual valuations

When a user changes an asset's current value or currency, worthi records a dated manual valuation. The Assets view shows the latest valuation date and recent value history.

There is no automatic revaluation. worthi does not scrape listing sites, order appraisals, or guarantee a sale price. The user chooses an evidence source and a monthly, quarterly, annual, or event-based review schedule appropriate to the asset.

## Ownership and related debt

Record only the ownership scope represented by the net worth statement. For a financed home or vehicle, the clearest complete-balance-sheet method is normally to record the full current asset value and the outstanding mortgage or loan as a separate liability.

Do not record full value, subtract the debt, and then add equity again. Apply any ownership percentage consistently to the asset and related debt unless the statement intentionally measures a different legal exposure.

## Currencies

Each asset carries an enabled currency. worthi preserves the original amount and converts active assets into the selected base currency using date-based FX references. A current FX rate does not make an old property or private-company estimate current.

## Privacy and product boundaries

Asset names and notes are protected with application-level encryption. Financial records are scoped to the authenticated user. This does not make worthi an appraisal, tax, accounting, lending, insurance, or transaction-valuation service, and no online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does worthi value real-world assets automatically?

No. Real-world assets are manual records. The user supplies and updates each current value.

### What happens when an asset value changes?

Saving a changed current value or currency records a dated manual valuation and updates the active asset's contribution to consolidated net worth.

### What is the difference between acquisition cost and current value?

Acquisition cost is optional context about what was paid. Current value is the estimate used in today's net worth.

### Can an old asset stay on record without affecting net worth?

Yes. Mark it inactive. Inactive assets are excluded from the current net worth calculation.

### Can assets use different currencies?

Yes. Each asset has a currency and active values are converted into the selected base currency for the combined view.
